The ITB's primary objective is to advocate for business expansion, economic disclosure increase exports, and meaningful work at jobs creation throughout the City of Miami via international business promotion. The City of Miami's Real Estate & Economic progressive growth (REED) and Neighborhood Enhancement Team (NET) programs are tonic allies with the ITB in the realization of its core agency objective.

Additional external trade partners include the U Commercial Service of the U Department of mercantile relations Enterprise Florida, and the Florida Foreign Trade Association.
